2020 Preview & Top Prospects Report![]() INF Cory Acton from UF By Christian Katt
Baseball is back for the West Boca Snappers and the rest of the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League. They will play a full 40 game season as the Snappers look to defend the title for a second straight year.
The SFCBL kicks off its season two weeks later than usual, with their opening night games being played on Friday, June 12. The Snappers start their season the following morning at 10 A.M with a double header against the Pompano Beach Clippers on Saturday, June 13.
The Snappers are reigning SFCBL Champions, coming off of back to back titles in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
In 2019, the Snappers were a Collegiate Summer Baseball 14th ranked team nationally. West Boca swept the Ft Lauderdale Knights to take home the SFCBL Championship, capping off a 29-13 season.
The Snappers were led by the 2019 SFCBL MVP, Derek Cartaya INF (Florida International University), the 2019 SFCBL Pitcher of the Year, Corey Martinez RHP (William Patterson University), and the 2019 SFCBL Rookie of the Year, Nelson Smith RHP (Palm Beach State).
Heading into 2020, the West Boca Snappers will be led by a star-studded cast of talent trying to bring a third consecutive SFCBL Championship back to West Boca Raton.
