Snappers take two to start the 2017 season

OF Dan Blazejewski from Dean College

It has been a wet and rainy start to the 2017 season down here in South Florida.  Through the first weekend the Snappers are boasting an early 2-1 record and will look to build on that this week.  With all of the early rain and more in the forecasts we have been fortunate to get in the games we did.

The team came out and battled right from the opening pitch on Saturday taking their first two games from the Boca Raton Blazers.  Pitching was a big key as we were able to utilize multiple arms throughout the course of the double header.  All of our guys looked good and were able to be effective.

Chris Jordan started game two throwing three scoreless innings giving up only two hits while striking out four batters.  Erick Vargas came in to shut the door in game one picking up a save and Brandon Saddler did the same for game two.  Saddler worked the two inning save with ease as he punched out six hitters.

Dan Blazejewski has led the attack for the Snappers offensively by going 3-5 with a triple and two singles over the first weekend.  Cj Farias and Richard Sabater have also chipped in by going 2-5 each with a combined two doubles and three RBI’s.

It’s still early but the Snappers seem to be clicking as a team and are looking to continue this attack the rest of the way.
